Strategic Exposure Assessment

Your life has already created conditions an adversary can use.
We find them.

A systematic examination of how visibility, authority, relationships, and routine converge to create cross-domain risk — the kind conventional security was never built to find.

Most protective security is designed to respond to incidents. A Strategic Exposure Assessment works differently — it maps the specific conditions your life has already created before an adversary does.

Exposure is not a single vulnerability. It is the product of everything about how a person lives, operates, and is known in the world. A digital footprint. A behavioral pattern. A set of relationships. A physical routine. Examined in isolation, each element appears manageable. Examined together — in the context of who you are, what you control, and how you appear to someone who wishes you harm — they tell a different story.

A Strategic Exposure Assessment is Shadow Sciences Group's foundational engagement. It is the systematic process of building that full picture before someone else does: mapping every domain in which a client's visibility, authority, and patterns create conditions for targeting, manipulation, or harm. What emerges is not a list of threats. It is an understanding of the specific cross-domain conditions that exist right now, and a framework for addressing them intelligently.

Every engagement is scoped individually and conducted under complete confidentiality. The seven domains described below represent the areas a Strategic Exposure Assessment addresses. Each is examined with contextual modifiers specific to the client's profile, role, and circumstances. The precise scope and depth of any engagement is determined in consultation with Shadow Sciences.

Seven Domains of Exposure

A Strategic Exposure Assessment examines seven interconnected domains, each examined with contextual modifiers specific to the client's profile and circumstances. The risk conditions that matter most are almost always the product of how these domains interact — not what any single domain contains on its own.

Domain 01 Digital
The digital domain examines the full scope of what is findable, inferrable, and reconstructable about a client through publicly accessible online sources — from formal records and platform presence to the data accumulated across aggregators and services over time. The objective is to understand what the client's digital footprint communicates to someone looking for it, and what it enables.
Domain 02 Reputational
A client's public identity — how they are perceived, what narratives exist about them, and where they appear in information ecosystems — shapes the conditions under which adversarial action becomes viable or attractive. The reputational domain examines the public information landscape surrounding a client: what is present, what is absent, what is contested, and what could be amplified or weaponized in an adversarial context.
Domain 03 Financial
Wealth creates visibility, and visibility creates targeting conditions. The financial domain examines how a client's asset profile, business interests, and financial relationships appear across public and semi-public sources — and what those appearances communicate about holdings, decision-making patterns, and points of financial exposure. Contextual modifiers such as geopolitical conditions or legal circumstances can substantially alter the risk profile this domain presents.
Domain 04 Relational
The people around a client are rarely incidental to their exposure — they are often the most accessible pathway through it. The relational domain examines how a client's professional network, personal relationships, household, and extended affiliations create access, leverage, and indirect exposure that a direct approach to the client could not achieve. Proximity and trust are among the most consistent factors in targeted harm.
Domain 05 Physical
Where a client lives, works, travels, and appears in the world creates a set of physical exposure conditions that no digital or relational analysis can fully account for. The physical domain examines residential and professional environments, movement infrastructure, and the ways physical routine intersects with publicly available information — including what that intersection reveals about access windows and points of vulnerability.
Domain 06 Behavioral
Routine creates predictability, and predictability creates opportunity. The behavioral domain examines the patterns embedded in how a client moves, communicates, schedules, and operates — with particular attention to the ways those patterns become readable across public-facing surfaces, regardless of intent. The most consequential behavioral exposures are often those that feel unremarkable.
Domain 07 Predictability
Predictability is the domain that cuts across all others. Where the preceding six domains examine what is known or visible about a client, this domain examines what that information enables in aggregate — the degree to which a client's actions, movements, decisions, and responses can be anticipated by someone paying close attention. Predictability is rarely created intentionally. It accumulates across routine, circumstance, and the patterns that only become apparent when the full picture is assembled.

“The question is never whether exposure conditions exist. They always do. The question is whether you understood them before someone with an adversarial interest understood them for you.”

The conditions that create risk do not require a specific threat to be significant.

A Strategic Exposure Assessment is not a response to a crisis. It is an act of deliberate intelligence — the decision to understand your own exposure profile before circumstances force the question.

The clients who engage Shadow Sciences for this work share a common characteristic: they have reached a level of visibility, authority, or asset concentration that makes the conditions of their life consequential to people they may not know. That profile is broader than any single profession or public role. What it shares is the recognition that conventional security — which responds to events — was not designed for the kind of risk that emerges from the intersection of who you are and how you live.

Senior Executives and Board Members Individuals whose authority and organizational affiliation make them targets for corporate espionage, social engineering, or personal targeting by adversaries with professional motives.
Public Figures and High-Profile Professionals Anyone whose name, face, or role generates unsolicited attention — and who has not had the opportunity to understand what that attention can access.
High-Net-Worth Individuals and Families Principals for whom asset visibility, wealth concentration, or family profile creates targeting risk that financial security alone cannot address.
Those Entering New Exposure Conditions Individuals whose profile has recently changed — through a transaction, a role, a public event, or a change in circumstance — and who have not yet mapped what that change now makes possible for someone else.

The Deliverable

Assessment Report

Every Strategic Exposure Assessment concludes with a written findings report, delivered to the client directly and reviewed by principals only. The report maps the specific cross-domain exposure conditions identified, frames the risk they represent, and offers a prioritized set of recommended mitigations.

Ongoing Relationship

For many clients, the initial assessment is the beginning of an ongoing relationship with Shadow Sciences. Exposure conditions change as circumstances evolve. Many clients who begin with an assessment go on to engage VEIL, SCOUT, or SHADE services as the specific conditions identified in the assessment require specialized response.

Every engagement begins with a conversation.

Shadow Sciences does not publish pricing, methodology, or engagement frameworks publicly. The scope of any Strategic Exposure Assessment is determined by the specifics of the client — their profile, their circumstances, and the domains in which their exposure conditions are most consequential. What every engagement shares is that it begins confidentially, proceeds with complete discretion, and is reviewed by principals only.

Confidentiality

All engagements are conducted under confidentiality from the initial inquiry forward. Inquiries do not create obligations and are never shared beyond the principals of Shadow Sciences Group.

Scope and Depth

The scope of a Strategic Exposure Assessment is developed in consultation and tailored to the specific profile and circumstances of each client. Not every domain requires the same depth of examination.

Integrated Services

The assessment frequently identifies conditions that warrant engagement with VEIL, SCOUT, or SHADE. Clients who begin with an assessment can move directly into those services through a single, continuous relationship with Shadow Sciences.

Standalone or Ongoing

An assessment can be engaged as a one-time exercise or as part of a recurring exposure review. For clients in roles or circumstances that evolve rapidly, periodic reassessment is standard practice.
